Special attention is drawn to an advertisement appearing in the auction columns of this issue of a. sale to be conducted by the Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Organisation Society on account of Mr F. Reardon. The sale will be held at the company’s Hawera saleyards on Tuesday, 19th inst. As will be seen from the advertisement, the sale comprises some 100 dairy cows, which come off the back country. The cows are in good condition, and anyone in search of choice dairy cattle 'would do well to attend. Cattle- will be delivered to Eltham and -Stratford free of charge. Mercedes Pietje Netlverland ha s inst finished her first S.O. test with 940.251 b. butter-fat, and as a Friesian, she is now the third highest producer in the Dominion and the highest in the Auckland province (states an exchange) The Matangi Friesian Farm Company (late W. R. Wright), her owners, held their first surplus sale on Wednesday. Heifers calved and in calf made up to 5 - J guineas, average 32 guineas. There was a strong demand for bulls and empty heifers; average 28 guineas. Enquiry slack.
The concert to be given at Eltham lown Hall under the auspices of the local Lawn Tennis Club should'be higlilv appreciated. The artists include the ilelody lour Quartette, of exceptional ability, not previously heard before in Eltham, and Hale Spencer, the leading elocutionist of Taranaki, both of New Plymouth, and other first-class artists both from Stratford and Hawera. Patrons may rely upon a first-class and varied entertainment.
