A SERIOUS CHARGE. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WAIRQA, Aug. 14. A young man named Arthur George Edlin, a newcomer to this district, was arrested this afternoon at Opouiti on a charge of incest, alleged to have been committed at Petoue last year. JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL. OAMAR-U, Aug. 14. At a largely attended meeting of women citizens of Oamaru this afternoon the following resolution was carried enthusiastically, with only a few dissentients: “That this meeting of women citizens, being keenly alike to the benefits to be derived * from the proposed educational advance, urges the Government to proceed to establish a junior high school in Oamaru without delav.”
