City carried play to Wliareroa’s 25, where ilammonu made a good attempt at scoring, but was collared on the line. Play was carried up and down field with Wliareroa pressing. Shortly after with AVhareroa attacking, E.' Death ■•ernmbled over. The try was converted oy G. Wills. Wiiareroa 5, C’itv 0 Goodwin put in a nice piece of work ami saved for City by fielding the ball. Play was again carried to City’s 25, where A; Kiicttman made a break for the line, hut was brought down and Wills kick tailed. Wliareroa 8 C'itv Hammond cleared G. Murphy scored a good try from the 25 for Wliareroa. 0. Shortly after half-time was called. City carried play to Wliareroa’s 25, where they were on the verge of scoring once or twice. Prom a good passing bout Wear scored City’s first try in the corner. A. Hoddinott-’s attempt- at goal failed. Wliareroa 8, City 3.
