USE OF PRESERVATIVE. BLOW AT AU.sTRAEA.SIAN TRADE. hy cable—press association—copyright Received Aug. 13, 1.30 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 12. The Formaldehyde Committee’s decision greatly disappointed those interested in the Australian and New Zealand meat trade, who regard,, it as inexplicable, in view of the use of formaldehyde and similar drugs in medicine. The opinion is expressed that if the recommendation is enforced Australia will receive a knock-out blow so far as beef is concerned, the trade in which must be handed over to the Argentina.—Aus.-N.Z.
