ATTRACTIONS FOR SATURDAY. Two very interesting features are set down for New Plymouth on Saturday, when the clhUlenge'by Te Aute to the New Plymouth High School for the Moascar Cup will be met, and also the meeting of Wanganui and Taranaki will take place. It will provide a very attractive afternoon.’s play. Special train arrangements are notified. THE MOASCAR CUP. Enthusiasts may now see this famous cup, which is in Hawera for a few days, kindly lent by the New Plymouth High School, the present holders. It will be interesting to recall that, it was ' originally, as may be seen from Die inscription, “a competition cup presented by the A. and N.Z. Training Cen--1 res, Moascar, to the Moascar Rugby Union.” It was won by the N.Z. Mounted Rifles Training Units and Depots’ representative Rugby football team at Isniailia in 1918, and presented by 'hem to the N.Z. Rugby Union for collegiate and secondary schools 3n New Zealand. It is interesting to note that T. M. Sheahan, a Patea boy, was coach and selector. Their record, is worth quoting: ‘‘Games played, 10; won, 9; drawn, I; points for, 147; against 3.” The holders have been: 1920 and 1921, Christchurch Bovs’ High School; 1922,- Auckland Grammar School; 1923 and 1924, NLP. High School. The cup, which is to be seen in Bennett and Sutton’s window, is a massive silver cup, supported- by foil” heavy rounded arms and standing on a dark solid base made, as the inscription states, “out of an aeroplane propellor boss.” The cup and stand are well worth inspection by all who have not already done so.
