JUNIOR. HIGH SCHOOLS. OAMARU PROPOSAL CONDEMNED (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) TTMARU, Aug. 12. At a special meeting of the Tiinaru School Committees’ Association tonight it was decided unanimously to endorse the action of the Federation of the South Island School Committees’ . Association in taking an active part in opposition to the Oamaru proposal to attach a junior high school to the Waitaki High School. The proposed expenditure of £1.4,000 which the experiment involves was characterised as a gross waste of public money in view of the starvation treatment meted out to some of the existing primary schools through insufficient accommodation, inadequate incidental allowance, etc.
