GOLF.
HAWERA. LADIES’ CLUB. Owing to the bad weather during the week and the consequent closing of the course, the monthly medal has been postponed until the first week m September, which will allow the intervening events to proceed as on the programme. For the same reason an extension of time to August 21 is necessary for the completion of the third round for the Tonks’ rose bowl.
On August 14 the championship begins, the following players meeting each other in the first round: Mrs. Thomson and Aliss L. Quin, Airs. Wake and Miss Wilson, Aliss AI. Quin and Aliss K. Robertson, Airs. Walkley and Miss Burgess, Airs. Glasson and Airs Christie, Airs. Bright and Aliss Sturrock. Airs. Dickie and Airs. Page, Mrs. Little a bye. The time limit for this round is August 27, and'in view of the unavoidable overlapping of the championship with the third round of the rose bowl, it will ease the situation considerably if all. or at least the majority of the first’ round matches are decided on the 14th.
The juniors have "still the second round of their two-day eclectic to play.
