Tj At Supreme Court, William Henry Wolfe, master painter, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment on a charge of receiving stolen goods (painters’ supplies), valued at £4B, Judge Stringer remarking that a more severe sentence would have been imposed had not the jury recommended leniency. It was rthis class of man who encouraged employees to steal. It was stated by the Crown Prosecutor that recently one Auckland warehouse lost £I6OO worth and another warehouse £IOOO worth bv pilfering, ihe Crown entered a nolle prosequi in the remaining charge. Angela Constantine was found not guilty on a charge of indecent assault and accused was formally discharged. TWO PRISONERS SENTENCED. WELLINGTON, Aug. 9. At the Supreme Court James Cain and John Burrowes were each sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment. 1
