REMANDED.
ALLEGED THEFT OF JEWELLERY
(by telegraph—press association.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 9. Rupert Janies Connell was charged at the Police Court with breaking and entering the shop of Meltzer Bros., on July 4, and stealing jewellery valued at £3Ol, and was remanded till August 11 in custody. Detective Cummings stated that accused had recently arrived from Australia. Only a small portion of the stolen property had been traced to accused.
