The opinion of a member of the Dairy Export Control Board in New Zealand that co-operation between Australia and New Zealand in regard to marketing of dairy produce is at present impracticable will occasion no surprise to the industry of the Commonwealth, remarks the Australasian. Even provided that there was a control board for the whole of Australia, it is questionable whether a|| y practicable working arrangements in marketing surplus butter and cheese could be resolved. Here it has even been suggested that Denmark might co_ operate. Possibly some agreement might be entered into between the three countries; but it is questionable whether anyone could expect that it would be striftly observed. Supposing any of the countries concerned had placed their quota of export supplies on the market, and stiil held heavy surplus stocks. Do those optimists who look to such co-or-dination becoming established for a moment think that the exporting country placed in such a position would be content to wait until the others thought fit to give it permission to resume business in outside markets P If they do they would probably be very disappointed.
