FARMERS’ CANDIDATE. A big effort, which achieved most satisfactory results, was anrauged uv the larmers’ candidate committee yesterday. In the aiternoon a concert given in the Convent schoolroom -by pupils of the school was attended by a large gathering of parents and friends, who* were enthusiastic in their appreciation of the clever entertainment provided. Part and action songs, solos, recitations and humorous sketches combined in the presentation of a most inteiesting programme, which reflected great credit upon the children, and also the teachers who supervised the preparations. Approximately 150 children and adults were present at the concert, social and dance held in the evening, when the school pupils again appeared in an attractive programme. Supporting vocal solos were contributed by Mrs J. Alurphy, Atiss lv. Cairev, and Air L. J. Loftus. The dance numbers included several Swiss national dances, which gave additional zest to the enjoyment of the occasion. Afessrs L. Zimmerman and P. Hammerslev officiated as Al’sC., music being rendered by tlie Alisses Clarke arid Kilbride. A dainty supper was served by lady members of the committee. CITY CANDIDATE.
