NEW’ CONNECTIONS. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION ) WELLINGTON. Aug. 8. The progress in developing the telephone system in New Zealand was outlined in the House to-night hv the Postmaster - General (Hon. j’„ 0. Coates). Mr Coates said ,11,000 new. connections were made last yeair, and the charges to 75 per cent, of the rural subscribers were less than in the previous vear.
