ARRIVAL AT HALIFAX. t DEATH OF A SEAMAN. BV CABLE —PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Aug. 7, 10.15 a.m. HALIFAX, Aug. 6. Almost immediately on the arrival of the Hood. Repulse and Adelaide in this, harbour Vice-Admiral Field interviewed newspaper men on the flagship. He said that the personnel had suffered considerably from the heat. One of the main objects had been to test the dreadnought in tropical climates. The Hood had stood the test magnificently. The triumphant entry was mairred by the death on the Adelaide on Tuesday of Seaman Albert H. W. Scott, of Gladesville, New South Wales. The first act of" his comrades was to place his body ashore for burial here.
Admiral Field said tlisjit during the trip of 35,000 miles, of the 3500 men in the squadron there had been little sickness and less than half-a-dozen deaths. —Reuter.
