PROHIBITION.
ABOLITION BILL. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT ST- JOHN’S (Newfoundland), Aug. 5. The Legislature gave a reading to a xJill providing for the abolition of prohibition and the substitution of a measure based on the Quebec Liquor Act. An alternative Bill is proposed in the nature of a temporary measure to permit the sale of beer and wines in hotels. Both Bills, were sent to a joint committee of the legislature.
