SENIOR CADETS.
ADDRESS BY REV. MR. BUSHKING. / A most interesting lecture was delivered to the members of No. 15 Coy. (Hawejra) Senior Cadets last evening by Padre- the Rev. Bush-King. The Padre, who sa\v considerable service during the Great V ar, was a well-known favourite r a 'l “Diggers,” and sailed from New Zealand with different reinforcements on no less than four occasions His trios took him to many parts of the world, and to different theatres of the war. The Padre used a large map of the world with his different trips marked thereon, and illustrated and explained his trips very fully. The cadets were keenly interested throughout the lecture, and warmly applauded the Padre at the conclusion. The Padre stated that lie had several other interesting experiences to relate on some future parades. The officer commanding the company, in thanking the Padre for his address to the cadets, stated that he would be very pleased to arrange his syllabus of training to< enable the Padre to be present and deliver further such interesting lectures. Alter the parade was dismissed a football practise was held, with a view to the selection of a team to represent the company against the Technical High School Cadets in a game of Rugby, to be held on the showgrounds on Saturday next at 2 p.m. The annual cadet boxing tournament again promises to be a great success, there being already 45 entries in hand. It is expected that the tournament will take place in September. A number of N.C.O.’s of the company proceed to Trentham on August 30 for a week’s course of instruction.
