THE LEAGUE CAME.
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 6. The weather is fine but overcast for the League test match and the ground will be very heavy. Received Aug. 6, 10.15 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 6. RUGBY
INTER-GROUP TOURNAMENT. The following team has been selected to represent the combined Hawera and Kaponga Groups at the tournament to be held at New' Plymouth racecourse on Saturday, August 9: Full-back, Bushy (Ivapuni); three-quarters, Ballantyne (Normanby), Briscoe (Kaponga), Greenbacks' (Hawera); fiveeighths, Hunter (Hawera), Toroa (Manaia); half, James (Tokaora); wing, McCallum (Okaiawa); forwards, Preston, Eynon (Normanby), Lee (Mokoia), Rogers (.Okaiawa), Eaves (Otakeho), Coleman (Manaia), Anderson (Auroa). Emergencies—Back, Hill (Manaia); forward, McCarthy (Hawera Convent). The above team w’ill play in bine and black. Boys from the Hawera group are to make their ow T n arrangements for travelling, and if they cannot travel must inform organiser at once. Boys from the Kaponga group to he at Kanuni at 7.30 on Saturday morning, ■ car to Kaponga, where Mr C. Betts will take charge of them. Play commences at New Plymouth at 10.30 sharp. Luncheon provided.
