Interest is growing in the coming performance of the brilliant musical comedy, “Our Miss Gibbs,” which the Hawera Operatic Society have been rehearsing for some time. The producer, Mr. Thomas Foster, who recently produced the opera for the Christchurch Operatic .Society, has had a varied and long experience, and is expected to arrive in Hawera at an early date to put on the final touches. The production of “Our Miss Gibbs” will be on a style on a par with that of the cities, so that musical people of Hawera may confidently look forward to a very fine performance. The wardrobe and stage settings will be on a specially gorgeous style, and the whole performance promises to be of the very best. The opera is being nut on under special arrangements with J. C. Williamson, Ltd. No detail is being omitted that will j ensure a thoroughly successful inter- .( pretation of a pretty and attractive work.
