COMPOSITE MINISTRY. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received Aug. 6, 10.15 a.m. MELBOURNE, Aug. 6. Mr Bruce announced that he had accepted the agreement arrived at by the conference of the Federal executives of the two parties for forming a composite Ministry. Mr Bruce’s colleagues; with the exception of Mr Stewart, endorsed the action, Mr Stewart tendered his resignation, which was accepted. The Statq organisations will now be asked to endorse the pact.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. LABOUR UNREST. SYDNEY, Aug. 6. The mine deputies on the northern coalfields have decided to give 14 days’ notice to cease work unless a conference is convened by the Conciliation Commissioner in the meantime. The deputies object to the change in the working hours from 11 at night till 7 in the morning to 3 in the morning till 11 in the morning. The engine-drivers are also restive.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
