CHARGE AGAINST SINGER. (BY TELEGRAPH —PR.EBS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 5. In the case in which Angelo Constantine, an Italian singer, wai s charged with indecent assault, and alternatively with common assault on a girl of eight years, the jury, after deliberating for fifteen minutes, returned a verdict of not guilty. Mr. Paterson, for the Crown, said he wished to communicate with the Attorney-General before proceeding with the other charges against the accused.

His Honour said he thought it was a case in which the Crown could enter a nolle prosequi in regard to the remaining charges. The accused was ■released on bail till Friday.
