MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive committee of the Egmont A. and P. Association was held in the Board room on Saturday afternoon, when there were present: Messrs F.. A.; Waslic,.- (chair), S. C. Tonks, \Y. McL’Dowie, J, D. Scott, H. Finjay, H. E. John sen, I>. S. Richardson, G. Ford, A. Lapkow, E. Death. H. Wren, T. Wilson, B. C. J. Thonilinson, H. Middleton, J. Short, A. Hunter, A. E. Western, F. Hoskin, D. .Crocker;- O. H. Washer, F. Mills junr., and F. Gilianders. The chairman intimated that the committee appointed had interviewed the association’s banker, who had signified his willingness to- make arrangements for an overdraft of'£l2()0. This aniount would pay off the £5,00 to the Farmers’ Co-op., and also pay Mr Arundel’s-interest-of £350, which would be due- in about a month’s time; It would be necessary, however,' tor some of the members of. the association to sign a guarantee to the bank. Mr -Tonks said he did hot mijid signing a guarantee, but He objected tC' the principle of the dozen or so men signmg a. guarantee when the association’s membership totalled between 700 and 800. ’ •' ' Several members suggested' tlfat" tKo idea of doubling the subscription might be entertained, but it was pointed out that an increased subscription could not he charged without, a; notice of motion altering the pTesent i;ule: / Mr Middleton moved that the assboiafpoiii : adopit ; The suggestion;. • a guaranteed bank overdraft of £l2(jo. Mr McL’Dowie seconded, and the. jnotion was carried, it being' understood that the whole of the committee would sign the guarantee. The New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association wrote, stating that thev had allocated the Perrett Shield to the forthcoming Egmont Show. The shield carried with it a £5 5s trophy, and was for the most points in .the purebred Berkshire class, all stock in that section to be registered , in the Hferd Book.--It was decided to write thanking the Association for their donation. - • The matter of granting permission to the executive of the New Zealand Methodist Bible Class Association to. hold an Easter camp on the Show Grounds was left with a committee to deal with. Permission was granted Messrs RL P. Morrissey and Co. to hold a 'pig fair on the Show Grounds on August b« < ; The committee set up to go into the proposal to hold a “stock drive” submitted their report, and recommended that the drive he organised. The committee also reeommendd that th district he divided into areas with. ‘an organiser appointed in charge of each, the organisers to arrange for the /canvassing and working of their respective areas. ‘Twenty-four distinct districts were defined in the committee’s report. Mr Middleton, as the promoter, of the scheme, moved that the committee's report be adopted.—Mr J. Short seconded, and the motion was carried. It was decided that aLI-moneys raised by the scheme be applied, firstly, towards the repayment of the Racifig Club’s deposit of £IOOO, ‘ and secondly, towards reduction of Mr s mortgage.
