Cable Assn. ENGLISH TOURING TEAM. LONDON, July 22. The following cricketers have definitely been selected for the Australian tour: Gilligan (captain), Chapman, J. L Bryan, Sutcliffe, Saudham, Woolley, Hendren, Tait, R. Tyldesley and StrudA^ck. British cricket team to tour Australia when finally constituted will consist of fifteen players, with Mr Toone as manager. Mr Mann declined an invitation to captain the side owing to business considerations. T'hs! remuneration will lie .£4(10 plus (if the tour is a financial success) a bonus, which will be awarded on the basis of merit and discipline on the recommendation of the captain and manager.— Reuter. TEST AT MANCHESTER. LONDON, July 22. The Engilsh test team for the match against South Africa at Manchester on the 26th will, be chosen from : Gilligan, Me,Bryan. Saudham, Sutcliffe, Woolley, Tate, Geary, Hendren, Duckwortli* R. Tyldesley, E. Tyldesley, and Roy Kilner. The chairman of the selection committee explains the reason why Hobbs and Hearne were omitted. The former definitely declined to go to Australia, and the later is doubtful. The committee thought that as the rubber had already been won the side should consist of players likely to be chosen for the Australian tour. —Reuter.
