MAN’S SUDDEN DEATH.
COMMENT BY THE CORONER. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION ) ' DUNEDIN, July 22. At the inquest on Thomas .Peattie Kirk, aged 42, a married man, who died suddenly last Wednesday after discharge from hospital following less than 48 hours’ treatment for a fractured leg, the coroner criticised the fact that the man was allowed to walk from the hospital to his home, 30f) vards, and generally condemning the casual man!'ei °1 discharge adopted in this case, lie added that it was fortunate that the medical evidence showed that the walkmg had no direct hearing on the cause ot death, which had resulted from a clot of blood dislodging from an ankle reaching the left lung through the general circulation. The wife’s evidence showed that it took deceased over an hour to walk home.
