FATE OF CREW

ORGANISING EXPEDITION. DIFFICULT AREA TO SEARCH. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received July 22. 11.45 a m MELBOURNE. July 22. According to further advice from the Administrator of the Northern Territory, it has been found impracticable to send an expeditionary force overland in an nt tempt to rescue the alleged to be survivors of the Douglas Mawson. A sea. expedition is being organised and sails., in the schooner Huddersfield. The territory to be searched is probably the least known part of the whole continent, ihe aborigines are far .from the Roper Island mission, and have- come little into contact with whites, and are naturally hostile to strangers. The enmity may he increased by unfortunate experiences with Malay and fishers who have paid flying visits to their coasts— Aus.-N.Z. Cable 4®sn
