MR R. J. LINN.
RESIGNS FROM HOSPITAL BOARD. TRIBUTES FROM MEMBERS. The resignation of Mr. R. J. Linn was yesterday received with much regret by the Hawera Hospital Board. Mr. Linn has during the past twelve years proved himself a valuable member of the board, and it is therefore unfortunate that his services are to be lost, on the eve of his retirement to New Plymouth. Mr. G. W. Tayler, who is one of the oldest members on the board, said that during the time he had worked with Mr. Linn he had found that gentleman to be one of the best members. Mr. Meldon said he had always been able to get on particularly well with Mr. Linn. Mr. McKay, a« a- new member, said that while he had been on the board lie had been impressed by the amount of work that Mr. Linn did. The chairman (Mr. F. Gillamlers) said that Mr. Rinn’s services had been most valuable in connection with the farm, and during late months the farm bad been almost entirely under bis care, and he had managed to make it about the only successful farm under hospital board management in the country. . Charitable aid cases had also received a, good deal of care and attention from Mr. Linn, and his services would be greatly missed in this connection. Mr. Lniii, in replying, said he greatly regretted leaving the board, pai ticularly as the building ol the new hospital would be commenced soon. However, lie would not be losing touch with the members of the board altogether, as he would he visitiim Hawera fairly often.
