AUCKLAND, July 2L , The value of wireless in arranging tor the prompt dispatch of mails was exemplified to-night on the arrival of the Makura from Vancouver. She advised the time of her arrival and a tender was readv when she dropped anchor in -the stream at 6.30. In 11 minutes 150 bags of southern mails were transferred to the tender, and at 7.15, five minutes after schedule time, the train left for Wellington with the mails, which were conveyed to the station from the wharf bv three lorries.
