Th© announcement made ‘bv the Leader of the Opposition, after he had moved his no-confidence' amendment, that he was offering the Government “a new suit of clothes,” was the subject of a humorous reference by Mr. Glenn in the House to-day. ‘‘l agree with the lion, gentleman when he says that his amendment is a suit of clothes,” s aid Mr. Glenu, ‘‘but I think I have seen that old \uit of clothes somewhere before; in fact it is the usual factory-made, turned out in hundreds.” A voice: Slops. (Laughter.) Mr. Glenn: The Leader of the Opposition is anxious to dress up in that suit of clothes, even to the buttons. He thought he wag completing the job, but I am quite sure that the Labour Party will be able to Dick up a few threads.

Mr. J. Savage (Auckland West): The suit is slop-made, anyway.
