ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
PRESENTATION. The popularity of the president (Mr B. C. Bennett) was shown by the enthusiasm that greeted him at the ordinary meeting last night, when his earlv departure for the Old Country was marked by a presentation made*to him to acknowledge the excellent work he has done for many years foy the society. On behalf of the council and the members Mr W. A. Spragg presented him with a case of pipes and a goldmounted t-ohacc-o pouch, with the wishes of all for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and a return at the end of the tour to again continue the good work he had done lor so long. In acknowledging the thoughtful kindness of members, Mr Bennett returned his heartiest thanks for their recognition ofianything lie had done for the cause of acclimatisation. It was a labour of love, and in it all he had a keen and continued interest. He hoped when abroad to he able to pick up information which would lie of use to the society and of service to the members. His* remarks were received with enthusiasm, and a happy little ceremony then terminated.
