Calves. —Fewer than usual. Prices improving. Runners, 75s to 110 s; heavy vealers, 65s to 80s medium, los to 635; light, 30s to 425; smaller. 20s to 28s ; small and fresh dropped, os to 18s; rough, 12s to 16s. Sheep.—Average numbers sold readily at late quotations. Heavy prime wethers -11 s to 45s 9d ; medium. 38s to -lOs 9d ; light, 35s to 37s 6d ; small and unfinished. 28s to 345; heavy prime ewes. 31s 9d to 34s 9d; medium, 28s l (> 31s 6d; light. 22s 6d to 27s (id; unfinished and poorer, 10s to 21s. Lambs.—A small yarding. Late rate* obtained. Heavy prime, 27s to 28s 9d; medium, 24s to 26s 9d; light, 20s to 23s 9d ; unfinished, 12s to 19s.
Pigs.—Fewer than average. Prices slightly easier. Choppers, 65s to 765; heavy and medium baconers, 76s to 86s; light baconers and heavy porkers. 68s to 72s ; medium and light- porkers' 50s to 665. Stores at late rates. Large, 25s to 325; slips, 25s to 30s; baconers, 18s to 265.
TALLOW SALES. LONDON. July 9. At the tallow sales 830 casks were offered and 516 were sold. Prices were mostly unchanged. Mutton 44s 6d to 41s, beef 45s to 40s 6d. TEA SALES. CALCUTTA, July 9. At the tea sales competition for all ftood liquoring sorts was keen but ordinary pekoes and tippy orange pekoes were slightly easier Common qualities were a little firmer and dusts sold well. Prices ranged from 11 annas 6 pice for the commonest leaf to 14 annas 6 pice for even leaf pekoes.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. DAIRY PRODUCE!. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the; following cablegram from, their London house under date of the 7th inst.:— Butter,—Since our last report (dated 4th inst.) prices are 2s per cwt lower. Price for N.Z. salted is now 188 s, exceptional brands 190 s.
Cheese.—Since our last report, (dated 3rd inst.) prices are 2s per cwt lower. Quotation for N.Z. white is now 935. coloured 91s.
