The Washington eorrespondent'of the New York Times learns that the Prince of Wales, travelling incognito as Baron Renfrew, is expected to come to the United .States to attend polo matches early in September . between America and Britain. The Prince, though himself an ardent plaj'er, will not participate in anv official matches, but he is expected to join the preliminary practice matches, in which his "countrymen will compete. The Prince’s visit to the United States will consume a fortnight, after which he will probably return to his ranch in Canada. The suggestion for the Prince’s visit came in a letter from L. E. Stoddard (chairman of the Polo Association) to Captain "Frederick Guest, a member of the Prince’s entourage, who replied that the. Prince would . probably enthusiastically accept, an official invitation, which ivas forthwith despatched.
