PROPOSED IMPORT DUTIES ON 'LUXURIES. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received July 8, 9.55 a.m. TGKIO, July 7. Import duties on luxuries will be raised all round to 100 per cent, ad valorem under a Bill introduced in the Diet, the purpose of which is to place ah embargo on luxuries rather than, the protection of home industries. \ The list of dutiable articles includes, tea and other beverages, liquors, precious stones, woollens, silks,' knitted goods, wearing apparel, cameras, gramophones, toys, and toilet goods.—Reuter.
