HARBOTJRMASTER’S REPORT. _ The harbourmaster, Captain W. .reported that the channel over the bar was straight, with about 12ft between the walls and 14ft on the bar 1 oL >• water spring tides, with about Hit 6m between the walls, and 10ft 6in on the bar at high water neap tides, the weather had been too rough to sound the bar, hut he would take the first opportunity to do so. There had been 11 arrivals and 0 departures since his last .report, 6 vessels going out on the lights. He had examined the walls and found them in. nood order. He had sounded the river"'on the sth and had found good water along the wharves, but shallower water a little to the south of the grader wharf, where the dredge was working. Everything at the station was in good working; order. DREDGEM*A STEP’S REPORT. The. dredgemaster, Mr A. Mercer, reported, inter alia, that dnring the month the dredge had deposited at the mouth of the river 3250 tons of spoil. The last week of dredging had been spent at the viaduct, where a sand spit was found to be forming as the result of a slight fresh. The reports were adonted.
