GOLF.

HAWED A LADIES’ CLUB. During the past month the weather has not been favourable to golf, and matches and competitions both have necessarily been abandoned. Competitors in the junior Yankee tournament have, however, been able to play a good few matches. They are warned that, both competitors’ cards must be given in for inspection. In the pastoften only the losing card has been given in, and players should see that both cards are properly signed and filled in and put into the box. The following show the matches played during June :—Miss Elliot beat Miss M. Page, 2 up ; Miss O’Rourke beat Miss Whitelaw, 4 up and 2; Mrs. Hall beat Miss Dewar, 5 up and 4; Mrs. Bayley beat Miss M. Page, 2 up and 1; Miss Joll beat Miss Sturrock, 2 up; Miss Joll beat Mrs. Hawthorne, 3 up and 1; Miss Corrigan beat Miss Earl, 1 up; Miss M. Robertson beat Miss Whitelaw, 5 up and 3; Miss Bilton beat Miss Dewar, 3 up and 1. The seniors have also apparently been getting in a. fair amount of play, as the following three cards for reduction of handicap have been given in: Miss Quin 21 to 17, Miss Burgess 17 to 16, Mrs. Walkley 29 to 23. The weather during the past- week having cleared up, the competitions on Thursday were played off in beautiful weather on an excellent course. The seniors played their usual round for the monthly medal, Mrs. .Walkley sending in the best card, showing 106-29-77. Other cards with good scores were: Miss Burgess, 99-17-82; Mrs. Foyster, 119-35-84; Miss M. Quin, 111-26-85. For the second day of the three-day bogy for Mrs. Tonks’ trophy for- seniors and juniors. Miss Burgess sent in the best card. The following were the best scores: —Miss Burgess, all square; Miss D. Joll, 4 down; Miss M. Quin, 4 down; Miss G. Death, 4 down; Mrs. Walkley, 5 down; Miss C. Reilly, 7 down ; Mrs. Foyster, 7 down. On next Thursday the juniors will play the first day of a two-dav eclectic, choosing their own partners. The seniors should play the first round for the Tonks’ Rose Bowl, and should the weather be unfavourable, or they are uliable to 1 play on that day for other reasons, they are notified" that they must play off before July 21. The following is the draw:—First round: Mrs. Christie and Mrs. Little ; Mrs. Thomson and Mrs. Suisted; Mrs French and Miss L. Quin; Miss K. Robertson and Miss E. Burgess • Mrs Dickie and Miss D. Joll; Mrs. Sutton and Miss Wilson. Second round: Mrs. Walkley and Mrs. Foyster; Mrs. irotter and Miss H. Burgess; Mrs. R. I age and Mrs. Glasson; Mrs. Bright and Mrs. Marshall. Byes • Mrs Wake and Miss M. Quin.
