TWO MEN KILLED
- • r- •_ * / ~ ,v .< i \ MOTOR CYCLE, HITS TRAM. SMASH IN NEW; PLYMOUTH. Two men were killed as a result of a collision between a mo'tor cycle and a tramear in Devon Street- last night. The victims are: Harold Daniel Cudby (30), of Waitara, a married man with a. wife and three children, and Donald Fitzherbert (21), of ; Korito, single.; . Cudby died within a few minutes of the accident and Fitzherbert expired about an hour later at the public hospital, where he had been taken in an unconscious condition and suffering from very severe injuries. The accident occurred at about ten. minutes to eight, directly opposite Devon House. The tramear was coming from Fitzroy towards the centre of the town and the two men were travelling on the cycle in. opposite • direction, Fitzherbertdriving the machine, with Cudby on a pillion seat. It appears that the men were on their correct side of the road until they were within a few yards of the tramear, when, it is stated, they turned abruptly across the tram dues iiv froht of the ear.
