A joke by the- Prime Minister, which the member for Wanganui certainly did not appreciate, followed his question today as to when the Minister for Finance expected the State Advance Department to be able to complete the business of dealing with all applications made during the month of September, 1923. ‘‘About the beginning of next century,” declared Mr Massey promptly, ‘‘but an official answer will be given on a subsequent occasion.”
