PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr. S F Wilson (president of the Canterbury ; Rugby Union) was last night appointed by the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union as the delegate to the Imperial Hugby conference in London.—Press Assn. A very pleasant social evening was held at the Oaonui Hall on Friday evening, when a large number of rnends met to say farewell to Mrs E. x.ook. a resident of Oaonui for 40 years, who is taking up residence in Hawera, and to Mr and Mrs H. A. Jordan, who are also going Hawera way, Mr Jordan having bought ’a farm on the Nolan road. Mr George Gibson, on behalf of friends, presented Mrs Cook with a Morris chair, and Mr and Mrs Jordan with an oak tray, a tea set and a set of spoons, and in doing so referred to the regret felt at their departure, and spoke of the esteem in which they were held in the district.
