FRIESIAN COMPETITIONS.
VALUABLE TROPHY. GIVEN BY FORMER, U.S. CONSUL. At the annual meeting of the Friesian Breeders’ Association, the president announced that the Hon. D. F. Wilbur, formerly U.S. Consul to New Zealand, had donated a challenge cup valued at £350, competed for . at the Manawatu A. and P. Association Show for the following class: Best Friesian aged bull and cow and one each two and three-year-old heifers. Mr. Hunt said this was quite the most valuable trophy ever given for competition in New Zealand.
A very hearty and cordial vote of thanks for Mr. Wilbur’s extreme generosity WJIS pas-sod with acclamation, and Air. Wilbur wal unanimously made a life member of the New Zealand Association. In putting the motion, Mr. Hunt said that the association gave two fifty guinea, challenge cups for the Royal Show for best bull and best female, .under conditions of age as laid down hr the A. and P: Royal Committf®- also gave to each winner a £lO 10s replica of the cup.
