NOTE TO ALLIES. 3Y CABLE—PRESP ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT Received July 2, 11.35 a.m LONDON, July 1. Well-informed circles in London con. sider the German reply generally satisfactory, though it seems impossible to agree to the proposal that the work of control shall finish by September 30. Reuter. PARIS, July 1. Cabinet has appointed General Walcb president of the Control Commission at Berlin, replacing General Sarrail. According to the Echo de Paris, the first version of the text of the German reply to the Allied Note handed to the Charge d’Affaires at Berlin, contained the three reservations mentioned in the forecast. The French Charge d’Affaires immediately declared that they were unacceptable, and subsequently Dabernon supported his protest, and the experts in Paris urged that the reply should be rejected. The German Government- then revised the Note, not mentioning the observations.—Reuter.
