SUPREME COURT.
PRISONERS SENTENCED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION ) WELLINGTON, July 1. At the Supreme Court to-day, 'before the Chief Justice, Albert William Murray, alias Wallace, for theft of tools at Palmerston North, was ordered to come up for sentence when called on and to pay costs. His Honor took into consideration the fact that for the past two years the prisoner had endeavoured to reform. The police report of bim was good. The offence, was committed over two years ago. Thomas Gordon, for breaking, entering and theft at Otaki. was sentenced to 12 months’ reformative treatment, and John George Winton, for horse stealing at Otaki. was ordered to be returned to Porirua Mental Hospital. A young Maori, for breaking and entering, forgery and uttering, was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention.
