BUTTER-FAT PRODUCTION.

CARE OR DAIRY COWS. IT PAYS TO FEED CONCENTRATES. Good feeding may give good results, but the best results are obtainable only from .the best feeding. Farmers in Taranaki and their neighbours are, we feel sure, ay anxious to provide for their herds as the biggest dairymen in New Zealand, and ifithey will seriously consider the unsolicited verdicts of Messrs G. S. Tibbie, of Rainham, Nel,son; G. R. Hutchinson, of Auckland; Jolly Bros., Aka Aka; F. Ducker, of Opotiki; S, Knight, Whangarei;' C. Morgan-Williams, Ohoka; and J. Bateman, Bay Road; Invercargill they could not do better than follow them by the judicious use of. “Moose” Nuts and Meal for their cows and heifers. At the stand of, the New Zealand Catflecake and Oil Company, Ltd., visitors to the Show can procure convincing evidence of the value of these products for increasing milk production : and with the prospect of lower prices there is no more important subject for the dairyman than this question of feeding. The evidence of Mr. Tibbie is remarkable. "His .-returns of butter-fat from nine cows for seven months increased bv b’OGIb, which left him a. profit of £3 17s 7d per cow ov.er and above the cost of concentrates (“Moose” Nuts and Bran). In further support of the excellence of “Moose” Nuts, Messrs Jollv.-Bros, siiv: “After feeding ‘Moose' N u 1 y only live days, one .cow's mill: increased from GOlb to 711 b daily, and tliis occurred in the middle of Novem-

her. when there was a flush, of grass.” Mr. Duclter says: “The result has far exceeded my expectations”; and Mr. Bateman says: “I estimate I gained 20 ; per cent, net increased returns, after taking into account the extra cost of your concentrated food.”

• We earnestly commend .to our farmers the value of the use of ‘‘Moose” Nuts, and need scarcely remind them that the very highest pinnacle of milk production lias been secured only by good feeding • ' The company’s excellent booklet; “The Proper Feeding of Live Stock,” and other, leaflets on the, subject of feeding, can be. procured';' at the. company’s stand, ot* on application to the New Zealand Cattlecake and Oil Co., Ltd. Auckland.
