Iho Newcastle Steel Works’ Rand, playing the Ninety-fourth Psalm, arTanged by WYstoniithol, won the'’first prize of Plod and the run in the contest against the most famous hands except the Besses of the .Barn, which " as unable to com note owing to numerous engagements. The Steel Works’ Band were entertained on Friday night by the Besses, when they played the piece. The leader said it would require the very best band to beat them. Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
