PARIS, .June 29. In the Chamber, lor the first time, some Socialists vored Ruhr credits to which they have been onposed on principle. The Socialist .-eader. M. Blum, declared that all Socialists would abstain, but M. Herriot. by making it a question of confidence, constituted it a vote of discipline of the whole left bloc. A number of Socialists abstained from voting, but many voted for the credits. Practically the whole opposition voted for them, and only the Communists voted against. They demanded the immediate evacuation of the Ruhr. M. Herriot replied that immediate evacuation was impossible in. the interest of reparations and also security, and pointed out that, the voting of credits did not imply approval of the policy of occupation, but of the status quo in the Ruhr, which was necessary, pending the issue of the forthcoming inter-Allied negotiations.—Renter.
