Mr. Allan, of Nelson, addressed a big gathering of fruit-growers at Earnsclengh on the Fruit Control Bill, and it was unanimously resolved to snnnort the Bill on condition that no Dominionwide pool lie made ; also that the maximum levy be throe-ponce per ease. At a special mooting of the Otago Fruit-growers’ Association it was resolved that a protest he lodged against the introduction of the Fruit Control Bill unless there is embodied in it under part 1 a nrovision for voting on the question of whether the Act shall apply to any province, as exists in part 2, in regard to local market- control, and the provision that no province be compelled to' pool with any other -province _ until a vote is taken and a majority vote given in its favour.
