ENTERTAINMENTS

OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT. "THE AGE OF DESIRE.’’ The programme at the Opera House this (Saturday) evening consists of a fine feature, and a good variety of supports. The main feature is “The Age of Desire,’’ a First National production, starring Mary Pliilbin of “Merry-Go-Round” fame, and Alyrtle Stedmaii- Frank Borzage, who directed “Humoresque,” is the director. The story tells of a woman who, in order to marry a rich man, left her child and posed as a single woman. She duly married the man, and although she had everything that wealth could bring, the years made her yearn for her. soil again. She advertised, and tried all manner of means to locate him. How she eventually met him again makes one of the most unusual climaxes on the screen! The settings are lavish, and the attention to the merest detail reflects great credit on the producer. The supports are many and varied, and golf enthusiasts will see America’s champions in action. A matinee will be given to-morrow afternoon. GRAND THEATRE—TO-NIGHT. “HOOT” GIBSON. Hoot Gibson gallop s and spears his way through seven, reels of rollicking comedy and dashing melodrama at" the Grand Theatre this evening in JiisA latest Universal feature, “The Thrill Chaser.” The picture might also be labelled “The Gloom Chaser,” for it is exceptionally refreshing; the kind of a* picture that leaves one pleased—' pleased until the star and director and company concerned in its making, and pleased with himself for going to the show. Part of the picture is very funny and some of its titles are immense. The exciting serial, “Phantom Fortune” is on the bill to-night. ORGAN RECITAL. The programme to lie submitted by Air Leslie H.
