VICTORIAN ELECTIONS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received June 27, 9.45 a.m, MELBOURNE, June 27. The polling at the State election is apathetic. There are four parties in the field, namely, Conservatives (Nationalists or Government Party). Liberals (consisting of a break-away wing of Government supporters and the new anti-Conservative candidates), and the Labour and Country Parties. The returns will not be available till midnight , as the voting v is on the preferential system and the counting will not close till midnight. Early figures indicated that the Government might sustain serious reverses, and possibly may he unable to carry on without the support of one of the other parties.—Aus.-N.Z Cable Assn. DISPUTE SETTLED. Received June 27. 9.40 a.m. SYDNEY, June 27. A. settlement has been reached in the coke workers’ dispute. The Enginedrivers, and Firemen’s Association has accepted the offer of a shorter working week made by the employers. REDUCTION OF HOTELS. Received June- 27, 10.35 a.m. MELBOURNE. June 27. " LITTLE UNEMPLOYMENT. MELBOURNE, June 27. In. the House of Representatives, Air. Bruce-, speaking on unemployment, said the problem in Australia was much less serious than in any country. Australia was undoubtedly the most prosperous part of the world to-dav Unemployment returns had fallen from 11.4 in 1921 to 7.6 at the present time. CABINET RESIGNATION. MELBOURNE, June 27.
