Jirookes_ heat Hunter, 3—6, 6—3, 6—4, 5 —7, 6 —2; Kingscote heat Ritchie, B—4, 6 —3, 6 —3. Rutnam and Hadi defeated' Willard At Wimbledon Hunter began brilliantly, giving Brookes no chance of taking the initiative. In the second set Brookes got into" his stride, and kept the American running continually. He played on Hunter’s backhand. A remarkable incident occurred in the hi’?t game. Brookes hit a nost, the ball bouncing into Hunter’s ~ court. The former refused to take a point, and ultimately won the game.—Center.
