SOUTH AFRICA v. LEVESONGOWER’S TEAM. Received June 27, 10.50 a.m. LONDON, June 26. Leveson-Gower’s team in their first innings made 230 (Howell 43, Doggart 47). Blanckenberg took five wickets for 53. The South Africans, in their second innings, made 171 (Taylor 33, Susskind 44, Catterall 45). Doggart took five for 58 and Rhodes four for 39.—Reuter. Received June 27, 2 p.m. LONDON. June 26. Leveson-Gower’s side’s batting was similar to the South Africans’, and there was a run of cheap wickets. Howell (Oxonian), Doggart and Crutchlev gave the brightest displays. The South Africans began their second innings badly. Commaille, Taylor and Nourse went cheaply. The score was five wickets for 117, and then Rhodes took four wickets for five runs in four overs. In the first day’s play against Sussex Lancashire made'2B7 (E 7 Tyldesley 105). In the match Worcester against Notts M hysall scored 131, completing his 1000 runs for the season.
