Ihe social committee of the local branch are leaving nothing undone to ensure a successful function at the grand Farmers’ Union ball, to he held on Lrtiday next, and if what one hears IS trim it Will he the best turn-out held at Mangatoki this season. A strong committee is at work, and it is thei? intention to gailv decorate the hall with the produce of the farms and scenery. Boulton’s orchestra of four uistiuments has been engaged, and a real treat will be in store for dancers and non-dancers alike. Lorries are leaving Stratford and Fltham with nee seating accommodation. The above iraneh of the union i s progressing ell, and of late quite a number of intending members’ names have been motioned, and will be proposed at the next meeting.
