FAIRHALL OUTPOINTS YOLATRE. DUNEDIN, June 25. A professional 15-round contest between Tommy Fairhall and Eugene \ olaire for a purse of £l5O went the full distance. Fairhall winning comfortably on points. The opening round provided a sensational incident. Half-way through Yolaire connected with a solid left to Fairhall’s point, and the Australian fell flat on his back, his head striking the floor with considerable force. He managed to sit up at the count of six, and got to his feet at eight. He staggered to the ropes, where lie leant helpless. \ olaire then lost his head, and rushed in to finish him off. He rained blows home while Fairhall was against l 'the syopes. At last the Australian staggered across the ring, where the Frenchman again got him on the ropes. From there he staggered to his own corner. Fairhall then literally fell into a clinch and bung on. the gong saving him. Had Yolaire not become rattled and measured bis opponent with one good effective blow he must have won the light in the first round. Medical opinion was that Fairhall was at least unconscious for the next two rounds. The Australian stated that he did not wake up till the eighth round. It was a remarkable illustra-
tion of how a man with a light won th<Mi loses it. In a light between Andy Affords and Laeliie MeDouald, of 10 rounds, fpr a £25 purse, 'McDonald won comfortably on points.
