Twenty-three magistrates were- on the Bench in the courthouse at Wealdstone, which was crowded with cowhoys and cow-girls, when the rodeo steer-roping summonses were heard. Sir Curtis Bennett prosecuted and Sir Marshall Hall defended. The prosecution _ submitted that ‘steers were not captive, animals, but domestic animals and therefore anyfcne hunting them in an enclosed space was subject to penalties under the Protection of Animals ca ~ e vvas adjourned till Monday owing to the illness of an important witness for the prosecution enter.
