THE AIORATO RIUM. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, June 24. Speaking of the moratorium at the N.D.A. conference, Air. Alorton said the sooner it comes to an end the sooner we will get back to a stable' state of affairs. The longer it is extended the longer the trouble to many farmers will last.
MISHAP TO DREDGE. WANGANUI, June 24. The Harbour Board’s dredge Kaione. which stuck on a sandbank outside the entrance yesterday when taking out a load of spoil, was got off last night. The vessel sustained only minor damage, and it is unlikely that dredging operations in the turning basin, which have been making good progress, will be seriously delayed. It was fortunate that the dredge was refloated when she was, as a couple of hours later a heavy westerly gale sprang up, which would have made her position serious. The vessel lost her cutter, but it is expected this will he picked up again.
PICTURES FOR WANGANUI. WANGANUI, June 23. When in Wanganui some months ago Lord Leverhulme was taken to the Sargeant Gallery by Mr Louis Cohen.
